SUBWAYS

Based on elevated subway and LIRR bridges, this series grew out of an earlier interest in bridges, but illustrates the more physical aspects of movement, speed, and a sense of place. The geometric regularity of steel or concrete supports, and the intervals between them, explores the way our eyes are conditioned to read boxes of information in a narrative fashion.
